The designed passive house is in the village of Lozen, located in the suburbs of Sofia. It is situated in north part of plot with area 1550sq.m.
The plan of passive house is square, one of the most compact forms. It is with elegant and stylish design.
The wall construction is of bricks Winerberger, Porotherm 25 N+F (thermal conductivity λ=0,26 W/m.K), two layers ISOVER FDPL 20 (λ=0,34 W/m.K) and suspended ventilated facades of HPL laminate panels of Parklex.
HPL panels have high density and they are composed of a core formed of cellulose fibers impregnated with phenolic resin and finished in natural wood, covered with acrylic resin PVDF formula. HPL panels become highly resistant to outdoor weather conditions with guaranteed color stability.
Windows are KOMMERLING 88 PLUS. KÖMMERLING 88 plus is a new generation profile with optimum depth of 88 mm profile, modern design and perfect proportions. A highly heat-protective system has secondary seal and six cameras. Three planes sealing in all areas (even in the crease of the wing and the frame) care for better protection against rain or strong head wind. Innovative seal into the rebate has the effect of additional heat protection.
Even in standard new system meets the requirements for low-energy house. It is implemented in a version with an aluminum cap, AluFusion and "passive house". Uf-values ​​according to the decision to move in the range 1.0 to ≤ 0,8 W / (m² K). The intelligent design of a comprehensive new system elevates to an unusual degree readings in terms of thermal and sound insulation, security and economic viability.

The roof is two slope. Its coverage is of Titanium-zinc tiles Prestige ZT. The large amount of tile / 100 x 34 cm / is underlined by the covering of titanium-zinc impregnation of the overlapping element. This model is composed of eight different layers of material with a thickness of 5 mm. It allows the aesthetic design of the roof, making it prestigious and sophisticated at the same time traditional and "alive." These tiles have a dual reflectivity and help maintain good microclimate, preventing overheating of the roof.

On the southeastern slope of the roof are arranged nine issues of flat plate collectors VIESSMAN Vitosol 300-F, type SV3A. With its extremely translucent anti-reflex glass and highly efficient thermal insulation, the high performance Vitosol-F flat-plate collector utilises the intensive solar radiation particularly efficiently. These powerful solar flat-plate collectors can save on average up to 60 percent of the energy required each year for DHW heating. Thanks to free solar energy, in combination with a condensing boiler, more than a third of the total annual energy can be saved. The Vitosol 300-F casing are made from an all-around aluminium frame. The pane seal is endless, resilient, as well as weather and UV resistant. Optional edge trims help to create an harmonious transition between the collector surface and the roof. The frames are available on request in any RAL colour. With their absorber areas of 2.32m², the Vitosol 300-F flat-plate collectors can be effectively matched to any energy demand. The collectors are available as vertical or horizontal versions.
To improve the values ​​of the passive house it is designed double southern facade. Greenhouse warming is used in the winter and convection cooling of the windows in the summer through valves in the upper part of windows.

The windows are shaded in the summer with shutters. So that prevents overheating of the rooms in this period. The items above are peculiar peaks, which also protect from strong sunlight. They are performed by XPS and are caught on the grid of beams that carry façade’s construction. They are cut to shape and are protected from moisture and breakage with glass fiber net coated with polymer concrete 5 mm.


The terraces are separated by a fugue from the building and are hung with a special cantilevered steel trusses and insulated from the building with mineral wool.

The passive house has a floor area of ​​104 square meters and total area 208 m. (in square meters covered terrace and garage floor with an area of ​​34 square meters). In this area most compact and functionally interconnected spaces are allocated. At first floor houses an entrance hall, toilet, kitchen, living room, staircase with technical room in the shoulder, a garage for one car. On the second floor there are an office, laundry room and two bedrooms with private bathrooms and terrace. The bedrooms and living rooms are situated in the south.

The technical area is intended for system controlled mechanical ventilation of the premises. In a way forced to submit fresh air to any living space and sucking exhaust air from bathrooms and kitchen. This avoids the need to open windows for ventilation of the premises during the cold winters and hot summers, as the premises are maintained at fresh air, meeting all sanitary requirements.

Preference is given to using energy saving appliances and lighting. All lighting fixtures are energy efficient and LED. Washing machine and dishwasher are provided with entrance for hot water from solar collectors.

The fireplace has a firebox that sucks fresh air from outside through a system of pipes that runs under the house. The air is heated and this reflects the more effective operation of the fireplace. The fireplace warms the room in building with a system of air ducts to the principle of convection.

With a comprehensive set of all measures taken we try to get a complete organism to operate with minimal resources to maintain a comfortable living environment.
